Business Certificate

Program Description

This one-year certificate program offers students the opportunity to acquire a solid foundation in the skills they need to function successfully in today’s demanding business environment.

Students develop a working knowledge of both manual accounting procedures and computer accounting systems. Courses in business communication and law provide the students with necessary practical knowledge. The broad nature of the program prepares students to work in a variety of employment situations – allowing them to become entrepreneurs, or work in the financial departments in business, industry, and public administration. Graduates also find employment in banks and trust companies, First Nation organizations, and accounting firms.

Transferrable Credits

Note: A number of credits of the Business Certificate program can be transferred to other programs at Yellowquill College. These include:

  • Certified Aboriginal Financial Manager Program

  • First Nation Governance Program

  • Mature Grade 12 Diploma Program

Admission Requirements

  • Senior 4 or equivalent standing, or

  • Mature student with a combination of education and experience
