Program Description
The Chronic Disease Prevention Program (CDPP) is designed to meet the needs of those working in the field of community health. The program includes an introduction to chronic disease and covers topics including chronic physical and mental illnesses and the longterm effects on the body's systems.
The program features eight modules that include practical experience in the effects on lifestyle that chronic diseases can have. Learning opportunities will be provided in diet, grocery shopping, accessing resources, mind mapping, physical activity plans and many other lifestyle choices.

- Chronic Diseases Impacting Our Cardiovascular System
- Chronic Diseases of the Respiratory System
- Chronic Diseases of the Musculoskeletal System
- Cancer - A Challenging Chronic Disease
- Mental Illness - A Chronic Disease
All courses comprise 40 hours of study in a one-week modular format. This enables students who are currently employed to study while continuing to work.

CDPP is a portable program which can be delivered on-site anywhere in Canada.
Admission Requirements
- Senior 4 or equivalent education standing
- Achieved a combination of education and experience as a mature student
- Have work experience in the health field
